The Domestic Violence Intervention Centre
The Domestic Violence Intervention Centre helps female victims in acute crisis situations following police intervention and the removal of the perpetrator.
With the consent of the woman* concerned, the Intervention Centre will be notified by the police or the public order office and will then contact the woman*.
Focus of Advice
- Crisis intervention and support
- Clarification about the situation of any children
- Information on the eviction procedure following police intervention
- Creation of a risk analysis and, if necessary, a personal safety plan
- Support to initiate legal steps and protective measures
- Help to make and application under the Protection against Violence Act
- Information on criminal law options
- Information on suitable support (for victims and perpetrators) and direct mediation, if necessary.
The consultation is free-of-charge and can take place in your home or at another location (e.g. school, clinic), if necessary.
Interpreters can be called in if necessary.
The Intervention Centre has been working as a Women's/Victim’s Advice Centre since 2008 following the “Help with Domestic Violence for the Esslingen district” concept and in close cooperation with all the offices and other specialist services involved. However, this is only ever carried out with the consent of the women* concerned.
The goal: finding an individual solution for the protection and safety of the women* in question and their children.
